Giacomo Figueredo is Lecturer of Applied Linguistics at the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. He has worked for several years as a professional translator, and carried out research in the field of Translation Studies, mainly in describing linguistically the product of translation. His research interests include systemic theory, functional grammar, language description, typology, translation, focussing on English and Brazilian Portuguese. He currently leads a project on multilingual meaning production. He has published several papers in the fields of Translation Studies, systemic theory and language description.
