I am a Professor of Applied Linguistics at NTNU, Norway. My main fields of interest are -written discourse studies and the use of corpora in such studies -the acquisition of writing skills and their assessment.

I am currently heading a project to develop a national system for the assessment of writing skills in Norwegian schools. My most recent major publication is the monograph Applied Linguistics: Towards a New Integration? London: Equinox. (In the series Studies in Applied Linguistics).
