Elgon in Eastern Uganda.This language has four distinct dialects and these are: the southern dialect spoken in Manafwa district, the central dialect spoken in Mbale district, the northern dialect spoken in Sironko dialect and the manjiya dialect spoken in Bududa district. which have partly contributed to the delay on the agreed standard orthography. I speak the southern dialect in which I have done some research. For my M.A, I did research on Lumasaaba Verb extensions. I am also very interested in tone, syntax, sign language and clinical linguistics. |
