Variationist sociolinguist interested particularly in language death theory. Under the supervision of Dr Mari Jones (Peterhouse, Cambridge), I wrote my M.Phil thesis on phonological levelling and lexical erosion in Francoprovençal.
Currently working on my PhD thesis, which focuses on a more artificial, putative standard learner variety of Francoprovençal, which has been termed 'Arpitan' by a predominantly L2 speaker-base, and about which little is known.
More generally, my interests lie in variation and change within Romance languages, as well as questions pertaining to wider theory in sociolinguistics, phonology, and experimental phonetics. I am a member of the Cambridge Endangered Languages and Cultures Group (CELC), and web-editor for the Association of French Language Studies (AFLS).
