Project title: 'THE MEANING OF BONO (BRONG) VERBS AND THEIR TRANSLATION EQUIVALENCE'
Background of Bono: Bono is a spoken dialect of Akan spoken in Ghana and Ivory Coast. In Ghana it is spoken in the Brong Ahafo Region, where it is known as BONO. However, others use the name of the region, Brong, and this name is popular among Ghanaian Linguists. Within the Brong Ahafo Region, every traditioal area attaches its name to the dialect reflecting its various sub dialects. For example, Dormaa Bono, Techiman Bono, Nkronza Bono etc.
In Ivory Coast the dialect is called ABRON and this name seems to have much international recognition than BONO (BRONG).
