Vida Stabler, an enrolled member of the Omaha Tribe, began her education at the Nebraska Indian Community College where she received her Associate of Arts in 1993. With her introduction to Native education, she attended Wayne State College in Nebraska. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1995, she was one of twelve native educators chosen nationally to receive a scholarship to work towards her Masters of Education Degree. She received a Master of Education degree from Oklahoma City University in 1996. Her educational goals were always preceded by her desire to teach on the Omaha Reservation in northeastern Nebraska. Vida Stabler, directs the Title VII / Umonhon Language & Cultural Center at Omaha Nation Public School. She works with a team of Elders, Teachers, and Community to develop Umonhon Language curriculum for Omaha Nation Public School and Community.
